Cast #4: I Wish Mitt Romney's Stake President Would Call Him In and On the Carpet for Behavior Unbecoming A Supposed "Man of God"

Yup. Sent me around the bend today. Mitt Romney yammering on about "Obama's apology tour" to the Middle East. Mitt is supposed to be a smart guy, but the best he can come up with are straw man and ad hominum arguments. I wish his Stake President would call him in and remind him about what kind of behavior is expected of a "Man of God" nevermind a well-reasoned, cogent argument. Right?

Cast #3: People I Want To Have Lunch With

There are some people that are so interesting, creative, and cool that I would like the opportunity to host a lunch, invite them all, and just listen to them talk. This week's list:

Mo ROCCA (No one makes me laugh more than Mo Rocca.)

CHER (As opposed to Madonna, Cher is extraordinarily multi-talented and so "remaking" and "reinventing" herself actually results in something worthwhile. And, no, I'm not gay, not that there's anything wrong with that.)

ROB DYRDEK (This guy makes me laugh almost as much as Mo Rocca [see above]. I want to spend a week playing at his fantasy-land warehouse, including holding and loving Meaty and Lil' Meaty).

CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR (She is fearless and I would love to do the work she does.)

DR. DOUGLAS MELTON (This guy is so cool. "Trained as a molecular biologist in amphibian development, Melton began the work he pursues today: trying to find a way to make insulin-producing cells by using stem cells. 'It was a courageous thing to do because he was at the pinnacle of his career,' says [his wife] Gail. 'He brought home textbooks on the pancreas to figure it all out.' Nearly two decades later, Melton is convinced that stem cells will be a critical part of new therapies that will treat and maybe cure not only diabetes but also other diseases for which there are no answers today."

Cast #2: "Scholarship" Pageants

So, it's that time of year, again, in the 21st century, for scholarship pageants. Did ya get that? S-C-H-O-L-A-R-S-H-I-P pageants. That's right, scholarship pageants. I love that. No, I hate that. Actually, I find the banality of it withering to the soul. If it's a freaking S-C-H-O-L-A-R-S-H-I-P pageant, entries should be limited to blind resumes. Hmmmmmmm? I wonder who would win. Sigh.

My First Cast

I finally have a blog, thanks to the able assistance of my daughter who is also my stylist, my decorator, and my constant guide in humor. This blog will be irreverent. I make no apologies.
More to come....
